Do players need to maintain certain grades?
We encourage academic success and may ask parents to support reasonable academic expectations. While we do not enforce strict grade requirements, we emphasize school comes first.

We offer both flag and tackle divisions. Age groups vary depending on registration numbers, but typically:Flag Football: Ages 6–14 (Specific seasons for specific age groups see registration)Tackle Football: Ages 8–14Age brackets may be adjusted to balance teams.

No experience is required. Our coaches are trained to teach fundamentals and ensure that players of all skill levels can learn, grow, and have fun

Yes. We believe every child should have access to sports. Families needing assistance can apply confidentially for reduced fees or full scholarships.  In addition, there are several options for confidential funding through various organizations.  To see a full list please view our funding options section on our website sentinelsfootball.ca.

Players need athletic clothing, Indoor cleats, and a mouthguard. Flags, jerseys/shirts, and footballs are provided by the program.

No. Flag football is non-contact. Emphasis is placed on speed, agility, and skill development.

Player safety is our top priority. We follow national safety standards, teach proper technique, and ensure all coaches are trained in safe contact (e.g., Heads Up Football). All equipment is inspected and certified.

For a small rental fee, we provide helmets, shoulder pads, and football pullover pants. Players need cleats, a girdle and a mouthguard. 

Yes. All coaches are volunteers who complete background checks and program-approved training.

Absolutely. We rely on parent volunteers for coaching, team management, fundraising, and event support. Volunteer interest can be indicated during registration or by sending an email to info@sentinelsfootball.ca

Most activities take place at local community fields.  Traditionally our practice fields are St. Elizabeth Catholic Secondary School in Vaughan and Dufferin Clark Community Centre.  Games are held at Esther Shiner Stadium at Bathurst and Finch. A full schedule and location list are shared after team assignments.
